Cork English Academy Print Design

Project Summary:

Design of logo, stationery and brand assets as well as brochure and stands for new English college in Cork city. Project also included photography for the brochure and of the new college building and Cork city in general. Cork English Academy came to me with a business idea which they asked me to turn into a tangible brand. At that early stage they didn’t even have a name. I was asked to research some different options, take the chosen name and create a logo and identity for the start-up college. Cork, being originally founded as a University city, my solution was to create a core logo featuring elements of the city coat of arms that also features in the University College Cork emblem and add it to an open book to reflect the culture of learning that they wanted to create. I also created a version for use in award certificates. I added the latin phrase ‘lingua, opportunis, vita’ meaning, ‘language, opportunity, life’ to give the new college a sense of ready made history as it were.
